CUPAL material is sourced via our German supplier (WMH Westdeutscher Metall-Handel GmbH) through an ISO 9001:2015 certified supply chain. The Al and Cu layer Werkstoff-numbers are standardised, and shipments are traceable.

Werkstoff-numbers for metals (Al 3.0255)
CUPAL's aluminium layer corresponds to Werkstoff-Nr. 3.0255 (AL 99,5 / 1050A), classified under DIN 17007.
Werkstoff-numbers for copper (Cu 2.0065)
CUPAL's copper layer corresponds to Werkstoff-Nr. 2.0065 (E1-Cu58, Cu 99,9%), classified under DIN 1787.

Applicable standards for the field
Copper busbars in electrical installations
Standard for the application area: CUPAL washers and transition plates are compatible with busbar joints built under DIN 43671.
Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies
Standard for the application area: CUPAL-based bolted joints maintain low transition resistance typical of IEC 61439 installations.
Connectors for power cables
Standard for the application area: IEC 61238 specifies lifetime requirements for cable-lug / busbar joints where CUPAL washers are commonly used.
Lightning protection
Standard for the application area: CUPAL strips and transition plates are suitable for the Al/Cu/steel transitions used in EN 62305 systems.
